    1. Your location icon shows your location
    2. Police Station icon shows Police Station locations
    3. Fire Brigade icon shows Fire Brigade locations
    4. You will also be able to see markers to indicate the latest available information provided by the CFA. False alarms are not shown on the map.
      1. Ongoing Fire indicates that the fire is GOING-on. The CFA describes a going fire as "Any fire expanding in a certain direction or directions. (Spreading at the perimeter of the fire)"
      2. contained Fire indicates that the fire is CONTAINED. The CFA describes a contained fire as "A fire is contained when its spread has been halted but may be still burning freely within the perimeter. Further work is required to bring the fire under control."
      3. controlled Fire indicates that the fire is CONTROLLED. The CFA describes a controlled fire status as "The time at which the complete perimeter of a fire is secured and no breakaway is expected. The fire only requires patrolling."
      4. safe Fire indicates that the fire is SAFE. The CFA describes a safe fire as "A fire is safe when it can be left without further patrol."
Only ongoing and controlled fires are shown on the map. You may zoom in or out of the map to see any distant/nearby fire spots.
  4. Along with these markers you'll also three circles. These represent safety zones.
    1. The green circle shows you area covered within 10KM from your current address.
    2. The orange one covers a 25KM radius and the light red circle covers 45KM.
    3. This is to let you know how soon an emergency service can reach you should you need assistance in case of a fire near you.
  5. In order to get a better idea as to how long it would take the emergency services to reach you click on the service's icon and then click on "How do I get here?"
  6. In addition to the icons shown above you'll also be presented with weather and fire hazard information icons which look like this weather icon. The upper portion of the icon shows the temperature in degrees celcius and wind direction is shown in the lower section. Using this summary and the detailed weather condition information you may be able to assess whether the presence of a fire nearby poses a threat to your property and life.
    1. Gray coloured icons indicate there is no fire danger reported.
    2. Yellow icons indicate a moderate fire danger risk.
    3. Red icons indicate a major fire hazard.
